We are due to be carrying out our second Public Consultation event on the 25/5/23. Post our initial event we have provided additional Fire Safety ‘Frequently Asked Question’, this can be found on the Development page under ‘Site Safety’.
RE Projects Developments Ltd (REPD) is preparing a planning application for a battery energy storage system on land at Persley Croft, Aberdeenshire, AB22 8AN. The application will be made to Aberdeen City Council.
Our proposed development lies on the outskirts of Persley to the northwest of Aberdeen. It comprises approximately 0.7 hectares of brownfield land with disused and semi-derelict agricultural buildings (a former piggery). It is bound by fields to the north and west, the A92 to the east, and a scrap metal yard to the south.
The proposed battery energy storage system (BESS) will be able to store and release energy from the electricity network. It will have a storage capacity of up to 49.9MW megawatts (MW) and provide energy security to the local grid during times of peak demand. More information can be found on the Development page.
As a renewable energy developer, sustainability is one of our core values as an organisation. We strive to create developments with environmental, social, and economic benefits. Persley Croft BESS offers energy security benefits, biodiversity and landscaping enhancements. Our technical team includes ecology, landscape and visual, noise, planning, and transport specialists who are helping us to design a sensitive and sustainable development. More about our sustainability commitments can be found on the Benefits page.
Engaging with communities is also very important to us. We have organised two public consultation events at Danestone Congregational Church prior to the application being submitted. The first event will take place from 3pm to 7pm on Thursday 11 May 2023, then again on Thursday 25 May 2023. We look forward to meeting you there. We look forward to hearing your views on the proposal and answer any queries you may have at this stage. Our contact details are included on the Share your views page
